5 Months

Lincoln turned 5 months on Saturday! I can hardly believe how the time flies. What I also can't believe is that I've been getting up 3 times a night for 5 months! This baby will not sleep all night. That's okay. It won't be long  until he does and then I'll miss out on that cuddle time

I used paper from Animal Cookies for this layout. I cut tiny strips from one of the B&T for the small dotted strips. Then I punched out the circles from another B&T. I added Liquid Glass to all the dots/circles. It looks awesome! I used CTMH's Foam Tape to raise the larger circles. Then I used Embroidery Floss for the stitching.

At Last!

This afternoon I leave to pick up my husband and daughter from the airport! So excited, I can hardly wait! I feel like I'm going to burst at times and then I feel like I'm going to cry with happiness. It's going to be a long day....their flight doesn't arrive until 7pm. I have ALL DAY to wait.

On another note, here's a layout I created this weekend. The pattern is from Reflections and the paper used is Silhouette and Tulip Cardstock. You can't go wrong with this paper pack for many occasions...weddings, graduations, and other ceremonies. I also used the newest paper flowers from CTMH-- Spring Blossom Just Blooms. I also used the Black Designer Ribbon Rounds.

My St. Patty's Day Gift

I got a call from my husband and daughter today! I almost didn't answer my cell phone when I saw the odd number. I'm so glad I did. We spoke for awhile about what they were doing and how Addie was. It's almost a sad thing for me because I could hear the excitement in their voices. We're back home, missing them like crazy, but they aren't really missing us because they're having such a great experience. I imagine it will be like this when my kids leave home. I'll miss them like crazy, but they won't miss me much.

Anyway, it's Wednesday-- we're halfway through their time away. So, now I'm on the upslope! (is that a word??)

To the left is a card I made for a friend for her birthday last month. I used the Veranda papers, which are to DIE FOR! I think they are so elegant. Plus, I needed to add a little green project today.

A Fling with Spring!

I always look forward to CTMH's Art & Soul webisodes. The artwork shown is always amazing. I learn something new every time I've watched. This month's webisode is all about chalk-popping. If you've never tried this, it's a must. I swear it will amaze you. Its like seeing something appear from nothing-- like magic. So make sure to tune in to this one. There's also a blurb about Studio J, the newest digital scrapbooking program from CTMH. Did I mention that it's all online and playing around with it is FREE? You can watch this Art & Soul here.

On a side note, my daughter and husband made it to Nicaragua in one piece. One of them got sick, and one of them didn't. I won't mention names, but Addison was pretty proud of herself.....

What if......?

Thursday is a very important day for my family. My husband and my 9 year old daughter are traveling to Nicaragua for 12 days. If you're a mom, then I know you can relate to what I'm about to share. As moms, aren't we always thinking of the worst case scenario? When your kids don't make it home right after school, don't you see them in your mind hopping in a car with some strange man who offered them candy? Only to rush out the door, keys in hand, and see them walking down the sidewalk. Whew.... just lollygagging along, no emergency.

And what about when you expect your husband home at a certain time. Ten minutes pass, twenty minutes pass, thirty....and this is when I start visualizing him on the side of the road, van tipped upside down, trapped or already dying, not being able to reach his cell phone to call for help. Boy do I have to resist the urge to call 911!!! Then, he finally answers his cell phone, only to ask why in the world I called so many times. He was just caught in a conversation with someone and thinks it's rude to answer your cell phone during said conversation. And boy, can pastors get caught in conversation!

So, is it just me or do all moms do this? I'm not generally a worrisome person, which is why I assume it's all moms. Post to this blog regarding a similar situation and you'll be added to my drawing for the month.

Anyway, back to the original story about Nicaragua. I just have to trust that God is in control and that He will work all things for His glory.... whether or not my family returns. Right now, I'm fully trusting that the Lord knows how much I need my husband and that He also doesn't want me to go through the heartbreak of losing a child and/or my husband. So I am fully intending to pick them up from the airport on the 22nd! I WILL see them return. I know this because I know how much my Savior loves me (even thought I also know how undeserving I am).
