Moonlight Kit for October

Moonlight is one of my favorite paper packs, even though I'm not real big on Halloween. I still like the colors and stamp sets. I love that Moonlight can be fall and/or Halloween, especially since some people shy away from the holiday. These pages would be just as cute with leaves and other fall accessories and stamps.

Close to My Heart announced that they would be featuring videos on My Craft Channel. I personally have never heard of this site before, but it's awesome! There are tons of different types of crafting videos from all sorts of people.

Celebrate National Stamping Month with CTMH!

Last year's double stamp set was a fantastic deal! I honestly did not think CTMH would offer something like that again, but it's back! Another trendy double stamp set for only $5 with a qualifying purchase. You don't have to purchase $100, not $75, not even $50..... You only have to purchase $35 in CTMH supplies!!!!

Here's Monica from CTMH Corporate with a video about this amazing deal...I just love seeing the vertical page protectors being used as an actual scrapbook page and not a place to stuff those extra photos. Ingenious!

The New Cricut Artiste Cartridge from CTMH

I can not wait to get this cartridge! There are so many cute 3D items this time! When you thumb through the online version of the new Idea Book, you'll see tons of creations using this cartridge. I dare say it's even better than the last one! One of my favorites is the Halloween coffin on pg. 71. Also, the little baby shoe is something I want to try. Check out some of the other cool 3-D things you can create with Artiste!

Just like last time, it does come with 3 sheets of Dimensional Elements and 3 stamp sets. This can cut 700 images like Art Philosophy. Most cartridges will cut about 30 images and you'll pay about $30 for it. So, the CTMH carts are TOTALLY worth your money!

The photos below are all the images and items that this cartridge will cut. You can click on each photo to see it bigger.

New Scrapbook Club Forming!

It's been awhile, but I'm ready to start up a club again. I have met a few scrapbookers here on Island and I've heard that some of you haven't really scrapbooked since I left the States!? So, please read more about my new club forming here, under the "Current Workshop" tab. If you have any questions, email me and I'll get 'em answered!

And here's some art that I've created lately. I plan on putting our flight photos and first few excursions on these pages. Just have to find the local Walgreens....hee-hee! :)

So Much To Say...

Commissioning Ceremony in KC.
First, I have been BUSY! Some of you know what's been going on with me, some of you don't. A lot has happened with us since my last post. Last fall, my husband was commissioned as a Navy Chaplain. We were given 6 different choices of duty stations. Not really knowing if we would get our first choice, we chose Okinawa, Japan. So here we are!

I also started homeschooling last fall for the first time. I have 4 kids, but only 3 are school age. Still, it was....time-consuming. :)

Now we're all settled in off-base housing. We are all finally making friends and finding our niche here. We are loving it, of course!

But with the new CTMH Idea Book coming out next month, I'm ready to get scrapbooking again. I just have not had time for it lately. There are a few things to be excited about-- a NEW CTMH Cricut Cartridge called Artiste, several different workshops (home decor!), and many, many stamp sets.
Free when you join my team in August!

Also, if you join my team in August and get the $49 consultant kit, you get this tote FREE! Come on, even if you don't do a party, why not sign up just for the free tote???? I wish I could re-join!

One more thing....With the new Idea Book, there are several items that are retiring. I am posting this list for you so you can stock up. If you want to order any of these items, go to my website and place your order before August 1st. You can click the "Join" button at the bottom right corner of the screen.

And don't forget to visit my website to order from the NEW idea book on August 1st!

In Honor of Our First Snow

Here's a layout I made last year, if not 2 years ago. I got the paper from my friends' store-- Paper Dreams. I stamped a lot of the snowflakes with CTMH ink. I used red glittery ribbon and an assortment of brads on this layout. I believe the stamp set is called Ice Crystals.

Now about my friends' store... They are going out of business and are having a 25% off sale. I'm planning on taking a few friends over there tonight to do some shopping.

Website Sale and Some Spooky Art

Okay, so I'm not HUGE on Halloween, but how could I not love this spooky card? I used the paper from Mischief, of course. I added Licorice Opaques and the Midnight Felt Shapes. The only thing I stamped was the word "Halloween." The paper behind that is patterned paper from the kit.

On another note, it's a website SALE! Items as low as $0.25! These items are only while supplies last, so make sure you check it out!

Here's another card I made using Typeset. I just adore this paper pack. I think it can be used for sports, school, and even birthdays. For this card, I scored, then sanded the juniper cardstock. I randomly stamped the letters from Vintage Type all over it. The smattering of stars are the Typeset Canvas Complements and the Milepost corrugated shapes. I used ink for one star and gold embossing powder on the other corrugated star. For the larger canvas star, I used my paper piercer to shred the edges a little.

Oh, on another note....Steven flies to Washington D.C. tomorrow for his FINAL interview. We should find out within the next week or so what our future holds.

Wicked Artwork

I figured before this month was over, I better post the art I created using Wicked, the August Stamp of the Month. I'm not much for Halloween, but I enjoyed stretching myself to come up with some "spooky" things.

This layout is by far, my favorite. I copied the idea from the Idea Book. Why re-invent the wheel when someone has already done the work?

The cat was stamped with Versamark, then embossed with white embossing powder. Do you see the Licorice Opaques on his/her eyes? This card also uses another Halloween stamp, All Hallow's Eve, on the Barn Red Cardstock.

I used a technique on the feet to create motion. I  stamped them and immediately used swiped my thumb over the top of them. It created the look of movement. You can click on the photo to see it larger.

Dreamin' and School Calendar

Look at these cute circle cards! The bottom two are from the Dreamin' Workshop Kit. The top left one is right from the Idea Book....yes, even consultants copy the Idea Book artwork! Why come up with your own ideas, when it's already in front of you?

Papers Used: Dreamin'
Stamps Used: Workshop Kit stamp set, Harvest Happiness, and So Grateful
Embellishments: Bronze Glitz Glitter Gel and Shimmer Brads (came with the workshop kit), Honey Mini Medleys, Antique Copper Brads, Chocolate Grosgrain Ribbon.

I finally got a Cricut and have used it a few times. I'm busy creating some artwork and haven't really had the chance to play around with it.

However, as some of you know, our family is homeschooling this year. So, with my Cricut, I created an interchangeable calendar for my first grader to use in the morning. I cut out the month letters and then a shape for each day of the month. August is suns. September is apples and so on. I slid the calendar into a CTMH page protector and am attaching the sun days with glue dots to the page protector. Works like a charm! For now, I just attached the month to the top of the protector, but I would like to create a cute page topper using the month header, but haven't had the time lately.

And homeschooling is great so far! I love it and the kids are liking it for the most part.
